|In 1952 Land Rover got the contract for 2500 vehicles and Minerva was to assemble them under licence in Belgium with the assistance from Land Rover. Chassis, axles, transmission and many other parts were supplied by Land Rover. All vehicles were left-hand driven 80" models with 2-litre engine. The front wings were squared off and sloping, the bodywork was made of steel and the front grille was smaller and had the Minerva badge. Other modifications include lights position and size, exhaust coming out under the driver's door and middle seat replaced by a steel toolbox.
This particular example was imported from Belgium earlier in the year. UK registration has been applied for. It runs well, seems sound underneath, has a decent interior and hood, but is probably best thought of as a running restoration which could also be used in its current highly original condition. Priced at £5,950 for the time being, this represents a cheap way into Series 1 Land Rovers. Price will increase as we do work to improve this delightful vehicle. Buy now!
